| Galicnik Wedding on July 10-11
Ethnology : (MIA, 02.07.2010) - Filip Sotarovski and Ljupka Talevska, both 27, are the couple which will get married during the annual manifestation, 47th Galicnik Wedding.
The wedding will take place on July 10-11, when the couple will marry in accordance with all old Galicnik customs on St. Peter's Day.
- It's an honor to be part of the manifestation, which is a tradition.

| | International Folklore Festival in Veles
Ethnology : (Vecer, 28.06.2010) - The 7th edition of Veles International Folklore Festival will be held on July 1-4, bringing together 14 clubs and ensembles from Macedonia, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia.
Macedonian national ensemble of folk dances and songs “Tanec” from Skopje will open this year’s festival.
Festival participants will parade at Veles streets in traditional folk costumes, whereas all-evening concerts will also be held in municipalities Gradsko and Caska.

| Travelling Ethnological Cinema in Bitola
Ethnology : (Utrinski vesnik, 08.06.2010) – Screening of ethnological films within a project, “Travelling Ethnological Cinema” of the Museum of Macedonia will occur at the Institute and Museum in Bitola today and tomorrow. The project is devised to spread awareness about the Macedonian ethnological film since the early last century.
The cinema has already visited Veles and Kratovo, and a visit of Struga is planned for the next week.

| | Display of Macedonian Folk Costumes in Veles
Ethnology : (Vecer, 10.03.2010) - Exhibition of Macedonian folk costumes created by Blagorodna Doneva are displayed in the lobby of Veles national theatre “Jordan Hadzi Konstantinov Dzinot”.
The exhibition includes 35 male, female and children’s costumes from all parts of Macedonia, as well as souvenirs characteristic for the Veles region.
The exhibition will be open by mid-March.

| Handicrafts Bazaar in Army Hall
Ethnology : (Vecer, 03.03.2010) - Civic association for culture, art and creativity, in cooperation with the Association for alternative tourism, open a handicrafts bazaar under motto “Woman as a Bastion in Art“ in the Army Hall on Wednesday at 14,00h.
A total of 25 authors will take part with handmade jewelry, glass products, textile, scarves, candles, wood sculptures etc.
The bazaar will be open until March 8.

| | Strumica International Carnival Pronounced Best in Europe
Ethnology : (MIA, 25.02.2010) – The World Carnival Cities Association has given high acknowledgement to the Strumica Carnival pronouncing it the best organised event of the kind in Europe.
The Association President Ferdinand van der Kron awarded a medal and a cup to the Strumica Mayor Zoran Zaev as a token of recognition for the extraordinary organisation of the carnival, which has abounded this year with high quality individual and group masks.

| Regular Annual Concert of Tikves Folk Ensemble
Ethnology : (www.culture.in.mk, 15.01.2010) – Tikves Folk Ensemble in Kavadarci is organising a regular annual concert tomorrow, 16th January. The concert is taking place in Ivan Mazov Klime Culture Centre at 7:00 p.m.
Tikves Folk Ensemble is thus starting its concert activities for 2010 in Kavadarci and throughout Macedonia along with participation in several international folk festivals abroad.

| | Vevcani Carnival to be Held January 12-13
Ethnology : (MIA, 12.01.2010) - The traditional Vasilica Carnival, dedicated to St.Basil the Great and the banishment of evil, is held in Vevcani on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The event begins with an improvised fair for alternative tourism and concerts of Vlado Janevski, Vlatko Stefanovski, bands Milko and Riblja Corba on Tuesday, whereas the traditional masked ball and related customs will be held on Wednesday.

| "Tanec" Holds Concert on 60th Jubilee
Ethnology : (MIA, 16.12.2009) - On occasion of the 60th jubilee, Macedonian ensemble of folk dances and songs "Tanec" will hold a concert of the most famous dances and songs in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet on Wednesday.
"Tanec" was established in 1949, having the task to nurture and promote Macedonian folklore. The ensemble has grown into the best representative of Macedonian culture, not only in the country, but also worldwide.

| Concert of Club “Mirce Acev” in Prilep
Ethnology : (Vest, 06.11.2009) - Cultural-artistic club “Mirce Acev” will hold an all-evening concert in Prilep center of culture “Marko Cepenkov” on Friday evening at 19,30h.
The program includes famous Macedonian dances, performed by the youth ensemble and the seniors.
The club has nurtured the rich Macedonian folklore for 62 years.

| | Two-Day Ethno Festival in Berovo
Ethnology : (Vest, 25.08.2009) - The inaugural edition of international ethno-festival in Berovo will be held at the town square on August 27-28.
The festival will include three parts: ethno-camp (production of ten-day music workshop that unites renowned artists from Macedonia, USA, Austria and Slovenia); “Malesevija na Dlanka” (fair of local products); and “Malesevo Folklore Meetings”. Moreover, US national of Macedonian descent, dancer Paula Blanton will perform “Dance for the Most Holy Mother of God” on the eve of namesake holiday.

| Seminar for Traditional Music and Dance opens in Bitola
Ethnology : (MIA, 29.07.2009) - Seminar for Traditional Music and Dance dedicated to folk songs and instruments, management in culture, folk dance teaching methods and preserving cultural heritage of folk ensembles will be opened Wednesday at the Cultural Centre in Bitola. - We want to enable educational upgrade of personnel who dedicated part of their life to traditional cultural values and are cherished by many Macedonian folk ensembles, ethnologist Valentin Soklevski said.
The seminar, which will gather many ethnologists, ethno-musicologists, will be opened until August 1.

| Prilep to Host 2012 Carnival Convention
Ethnology : (Spic, 02.06.2009) – Prilep will host the 32nd Convention of the Association of European Carnival Cities in 2012. The Prilep application was unanimously accepted at the last 29th Convention in Budva, Montenegro on 23-31 May.
“This is a great honour and obligation for carnival-oriented Prilep, which will start preparatory work immediately in order to welcome 500 delegates of carnival cities not only in Europe but the United States in three years,” said Prilep Mayor Marjan Risteski.

| | Exhibition of Folk Costumes and Crosses in Bitola
Ethnology : (Vest, 14.05.2009) - More than 25 ceremonial folk costumes from all Macedonian regions are displayed in Bitola House of Culture, within exhibition “Cross-Motif in Folk Costume”, organized by the Artisan Association.
The folk costumes are part of the private collection of young ethnologist Aleksandar Todorovski.
“The costumes present the entire Macedonian history, whereas the cross, which was banned by the authorities at that time, was hidden in the embroidery.

| Museum Opening in Delcevo
Ethnology : (Utrinski vesnik, 10.03.2009) – A museum of archaeological and paleontological findings in the area of Delcevo has been recently opened in Delcevo. Bamed “Pijanec,” the Museum has already started filling its shelves with valuable artefacts.
“The Museum will be the organiser or archaeological and paleontological excavations in this region that has turned out to be exceptionally rich in both archaeological and paleontological terms,” Daniela Takeva, PR for local self-government says.

Ethnology : (MIA, 09.03.2009) - "Biljana" cultural association from the village of Lozani near Struga presented the best and most original Macedonian folk costume according to an expert jury at the 33. annual manifestation "Days of Macedonian Folk Costumes", held in Krivogastani village.
22 teams of a total of 70 participants presented folk costumes and folklore hectare from all across Macedonia.

| Prilep International Carnival "Procka 2009" Presents Best Masks' Awards
Ethnology : (MIA, 03.03.2009) - "Prilep Bear Tamers" and "Fasting Sarma" as group traditional mask and group modern mask respectively, have been declared most original masks at this year's international carnival "Procka 2009" in Prilep.
The most original mask coming from abroad is "Survakari" from Bulgaria, whereas the best individual masks are "Krali Marko" and "Spring, Nature, Devil".

Ethnology : (Utrinski vesnik, 25.12.2008) – An ethnological exhibition, “The Most Beautiful One – Bride Gowns since 19th Century Until today” authored by ethnologists and senior custodians Slavica Hristova and Tatjana Gjorgiovska is opening in the Museum of the City of Skopje today. Forty dresses, accessories and 60 photographs reflecting their style changes in the 200 year span and the evolution of fashion in general are presented.

| Ethnological Films in Museum of Macedonia
Ethnology : (Vecer, 17.12.2008) - “Days of Macedonian Ethnological Film” will be held in the Museum of Macedonia on Wednesday and Thursday.
The event includes three ethnological documentaries, two of which premieres. These are “We are Good Until Now” of ethnologist Vladimir Bocev and “Bektasi – Enter and See” of ethnologist Elizabeta Koneska.
The third film is titled “Traditional Fishing in Ohrid Lake” of Marija Kanevce.

Ethnology : (Vest, 16.12.2008) - Exhibition “Vucedol-Myth that Perseveres” of Zagreb-based Archaeological Museum will be opened in the Museum of Macedonia on Wednesday evening at 19,00h, including 100 displays depicting one of the most significant prehistoric cultures in northern Croatia. Site Vucedol is a phenomenon marking the prehistoric epoch, not only in Croatia, but also in Europe.
