| Tomislav Osmanli’s “Twenty-First” Instigates Delight with Macedonian Language Scholars
Literature : (Utrinski vesnik, 05.07.2010) – The winner of the 2010 Novel of the Year, “Twenty-First” by Tomislav Osmanli was presented within the activities of the Macedonian Language Seminar in Ohrid at the weekend. The visitors at the promotion showed enormous interest in the content and theme as well as the author’s motivation to write the novel. Naume Radiceski, Ph.D, referred to the novel and excerpts from the book were read.

| | Bratislav Taskovski Wins Racin Award
Literature : (Utrinski vesnik, 09.06.2010) – Author Bratislav Taskovski is the winner of Racin Award for this year for his novel “Cage of Sins.” A jury including Trajce Kacarov, Maja Jakimovska – Tosic, and Svetlana Hristova Jocic decided to give Taskovski the award for using his writing skills to place a thesis of the character of Ivan Istocni, a dedicated spiritualist and rebellious revolutionary.

| Meeting a Writer – Ingo Schulze in Skopje
Literature : (www.culture.in.mk, 04.06.2010) – A novel, “Adam and Evelyn” and a book of poetry, “Mobile” by Ingo Schulze, one of the German most distinguished modern authors was promoted in the Skopje Old Bazaar yesterday. A meeting with the author will take place in St. Kliment Ohridski National and University Library at 11:00 a.m. today where visitors will be able to discuss some issues with Schulze. Literary documentation of the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunion of Germany has contributed for Schulze to become one of the most impressive literary witnesses of this period and one of the most translated authors.

Literature : (Utrinski vesnik, 14.05.2010) – The Mediterranean Academy Charter bestowed by the Year of Essay International Literary Event goes to a Montenegrin author, Academician Sreten Perovic for this year. The decision on the award for 2010 has been unanimously made by the Management Board of Braka Miladinovci Mediterranean Academy in Struga. The Academy said the Charter is given to Perovic for true achievements, affirmation, translation and cherishing of the Macedonian and Montenegrin culture, literature, and language.

Literature : (Vest, 04.05.2010) - Editions “Contemporary Turkish Poetry” and “Contemporary Turkish Short Story” will be promoted in Skopje-based Suli An on Tuesday evening at 19,00h.
Academician Vlada Urosevic and Ajsu Erden are the promoters, whereas Turkish PEN chair Ingi Aral will deliver an address.
The event will also include the participation of Turkish authors, along with a music performance honoring Istanbul, the 2010 European Capital of Culture.

Literature : (MIA, 03.05.2010) - Award “Goceva Povelba” (Goce Charter) for 2010 is given to poet Vele Smilevski.
The award is presented for outstanding achievements in field of literature, science and culture, as well as affirmation of Macedonian dignity, in line with the slogan of revolutionary Goce Delcev, “I understand the world as a field for cultural contest among nations”. Smilevski will receive the award within event “Goce Days” in village Podgorci near Struga on May 17.

Literature : (Vecer, 25.03.2010) – Prestigious Prose Masters Award bestowed by Feniks Publisher and Macedonia Present Foundation for the best prose book by a Macedonian author in the past year goes to Jovan Pavlovski for his novel “Town, Years, People” published by Mi-An.
The novel dominated by building of the image of the Other has human archetypes and destinies or interethnic relations in a Macedonian small city (Tetovo) as the basic topic, presented through a gallery of characters, unusual events, tragic accidents. The award will be handed to Pavlovski at the Skopje International Book Fair on 13-18 April.

| Writers’ Association Hands Annual Awards
Literature : (Utrinski vesnik, 12.02.2010) – Four annual awards traditionally bestowed by the Macedonian Writers’ Association will be handed to the winners in a ceremony at noon today. The Writers’ Association is organizing the event to mark its 63rd anniversary. On this occasion, busts of initiators for establishment of the authors’ association – Slavko Janevski and Aco Sopov will be unveiled as will five portraits of authors Ante Popovski, Simon Drakul, Murat Isaku, Petar T. | Mihail Rendzov Laureate of "Prlicev Orations" Best Poem Award
