Bob Dylan to hold Skopje concert on June 4

(MIA, 06.05.2010) - Legendary U.S. singer Bob Dylan will hold a concert in Skopje-based "Metropolis Arena" on June 4. The concert is organized by "Avalon" production, supported by the Ministry of Culture. Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said at Thursday's press conference the concert would be a glamorous herald of the 50th Ohrid Summer festival. She stressed Bob Dylan is a cult figure in popular music, uniting many generations in the last five decades.

Gjoko Taneski Wins National Eurosong Contest

(MIA, 21.02.2010) - Gjoko Taneski is the winner of the Skopje Festival, which is the national contest for a song going to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest. Winning a total of 22 points, Tanevski with his song "I Have The Strength" - written by Kristijan Gabrovski and Darko Tasevski - became the tenth representative of Macedonia to compete at the festival, which this year will be held in Oslo, Norway.

Bagi Communications Promotes Vasko Serafimov's Third Album 'Welcome'

(MIA, 23.12.2009) - 'Bagi Communications' production promoted Wednesday the third album of prominent Macedonian musician Vasko Serafimov. The album 'Welcome' brings together 10 compositions of ambiental music, presenting also three guests - Venko Serafimov, Svetlana Kamdzijas and Zoran Tertevski.

Garo Tavitjan Promotes New Album

(Dnevnik, 15.12.2009) – Macedonian distinguished musician Garabet Tavitjan will promote his new album at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet lobby on 17th December. Some great musicians from the former Yugoslav music stage including Josipa Lisac, Zeljko Bebek, Hari Varesanovic, Masimo Savic, Tereza Kesovija, Aki Rahimovski, Esma Redepova, Karolina and Miki Jovanovski-Dzafer are performing as guest musicians in the new CD. The album also includes Macedonian traditional songs performed by Balkan renowned singers. The project is produced by Diran and Garo Tavitjan.

Kavadarci – Jazz and Blues Concert

(Vecer, 17.11.2009) – A jazz and blues concert with professors and students of the Faculty of Music Art in Stip will be held in Ivan Mazov – Klime Culture Centre in Kavadarci at 8.00 p.m. today. Renowned jazz musician Toni Kitanovski will also perform within the concert organized as part of the 2009 Kavadarci Cultural Autumn.

At Youth Cultural Centre Yesterday – Kokan Dimusevski’s CD “Dream” Promoted

(Vecer, 12.11.2009) – “Dreams” is a third music CD in Kokan Dimusevski’s collection “Relax Music” that was promoted at the Youth Cultural Centre yesterday. At the promotion, Dimusevski said that beside author’s compositions, the CD contains arranged folk themes from our areas. “The CD is an ambiance one and may be listened to constantly without making the listener tired or bored,” he said. The producer, Vojo Zivoinovic, said this was a little different album from the previous ones and was intended for foreign markets. The album will be sold in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.

(Vecer, 06.11.2009) - A jazz evening of “Jordan Kostov Trio” will be held in book-café “Magor” on Friday evening at 22,00h. The band is comprised of Jordan Kostov on accordion, Filip Stevanovski on trombone, Vasko Bojadziski on saxophone and Oliver Josifovski on contrabass.

Mitan Releases Second Album

(MIA, 28.10.2009) - World music band Mitan released Tuesday its second album "Tale of a Girl" following its concert promotion in August at Ohrid Summer Festival. The album contains 12 renditions of traditional Macedonian love songs, made by top musicians from Macedonia. Vlatko Stefanovski is a special guest on the album. - "Tale of a Girl" is a result of a year-long labour with love.

ZZ TOP at Boris Trajkovski Hall

(Dnevnik, 22.10.2009) - The Texan blues-trio ZZ TOP is having a debut to Skopje audience at Boris Trajkovski Hall 9.00 p.m. today. Their concert is a part of a tour “Double Down Live”. They are coming to Macedonia with their complete equipment. The organizer of the concert, “Avalon Production”, reveals that in unofficial conversations the members of ZZ TOP mentioned on a few occasions that they wanted to play in East Europe and could not wait for the concert in Skopje.

Legendary Santana Comes to Skopje

The concert is a part of the great musician’s world summer tour. The winner of ten Grammy awards, Santana is seen as one of the best guitar players in the world who has played rock, blues and pop music beside Latin sound.

Macedonian Jazz Songs in “Magor”

(Vecer, 20.03.2009) - New band of jazz pianist Simon Kiselicki “Acoustic Band” will perform its project “Jamajla” in book-café “Magor” on Friday evening at 22,15h. Besides the band’s own songs, “Jamajla” also contains adaptations-variations of several famous Macedonian folk songs. “Acoustic Band” is comprised of Simon Kiselicki on piano, Aleksandar Ikonomov on contrabass, Alek Sekulovski on drums and Petar Hristov on soprano saxophone.

Promotion – Soundtrack for “Marat/Sade”

(Vecer, 13.03.2009) – The Indy Pub is the venue of an interesting promotion of the soundtrack for “Marat/Sade” theatre production at 11.00 p.m. today. Some music numbers, by Bei The Fish, will be performed exclusively within the promotion in somewhat changed composition: Ognen Anastasovski (bass), Nenad Tonkin (keyboards), and a novelty is Vladimir Nastevski – Cevka (electronic drums). Instead of the band’s vocal, Valentina Minovska, vocals will be sung by actors taking part in the play: Jordan Simonov, Zaklina Stefkovska, Kiril Pop Hristov, Sasko Kocev, Igor Angelov, Sofija Nasevska, and other.

“Baklava” to Promote Album in Universal Hall

(www.culture.in.mk, 25.02.2009) - Ethno-band “Baklava” will promote its latest album titled “Kalemar”, released by the Skopje Jazz Festival, in the Universal Hall on Sunday evening at 20,30h.
