| Strumica - Exhibition on 100 Years of Ilinden
(Nova Makedonija, 25.07.2003) - Art Gallery in Strumica has joined Anton Panov National Theatre in Strumica in the events marking the 100th Anniversary of Ilinden Uprising. In collaboration with the Daut Pasin Amam Art Gallery in Skopje, Strumica art lovers were given a rare opportunity these days to see an art exhibition, “Thematic Challenge” at the Culture Centre. The exhibition presented 30 art works by 26 artists made from 1888 to 1989 including eminent artists in Macedonia.
Given that a Strumica Cultural Summer is non-operational such an exhibition is the number 1 cultural event in town.
On the other hand, works for this year’s International Art colony are near completion at the Art Gallery. It is even more important this year since a rare jubilee - 40 years of active operating of the most productive colony not only in the Balkans but elsewhere in Europe is being celebrated.
